María Eugenia Casar is a member of the Board of Sigma, Ethan Allen (where she serves on the Audit Committee), and Save the Children México (where she is a member of the Governance and Talent Committee).

Maria Eugenia worked for over 10 years at the United Nations (UN), holding various positions related to the organization's budget and finances. Her roles included CFO of the UN, Representative of the Secretary General to the UN Pension Fund, Under-Secretary-General of the UN Development Program, and Assistant Executive Director of the UN World Food Programme, based in Rome.

In Mexico, Maria Eugenia has served as the Executive Director of the Mexican Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AMEXCID), National Treasurer, CFO of Banco del Ahorro Nacional y Servicios Financieros (BANSEFI), and held other positions within the Ministry of Finance and the National Banking Commission (CNBV).

She holds a degree in Public Accounting and an MBA, both from ITAM, where she also served as Head of School and Professor of Accounting. Additionally, she is the author of several publications related to financing for development.
