The site allows you to quantify CO2 emissions resulting from the use of transportation and energy consumption. It also provides practical advice on environment-respectful behaviors. It also presents options to compensate for your calculated emissions through reforestation projects undertaken by Reforestamos ²Ñé³æ¾±³¦´Ç and Pronatura. Televisa Verde came on board the project to help spread the word.
Reforestamos ²Ñé³æ¾±³¦´Ç -Grupo Bimbo’s civil association- together with Pronatura ²Ñé³æ¾±³¦´Ç, A.C. and the Instituto Nacional de EcologÃa (INE), concerned over the global climate change, joined efforts to create the first Mexican Carbon Calculator. (www.calculatusemisiones.com)
Guillermo Barroso Montull, President of Pronatura ²Ñé³æ¾±³¦´Ç, presented the Mexican Carbon Calculator and stressed the importance of joining public, private and civil efforts towards a common objective: to face the challenge of climate change; a world-wide problem that we must all participate in solving.
