The following year, the sale of Mrs. Baird鈥檚 Bread to the group was consolidated. A听US听bakery, the legendary Ninnie L. Baird of Fort Worth (Texas) founded in 1908. It included eleven plants, 3000 associates and was Texas鈥檚 leading听baked-goods听company.听
But the most important听and wide-reaching Bimbo听purchase was the 2002 acquisition of all western North American assets at the Canadian company听George Weston Ltd.,听owners of brands such as听Orowheat, Entenmanns, Thomas听English Muffins听and听Boboli听pizzas.
